Over a period of two years we remodelled the interior of the property to fit the changing needs and life style of the family. On the Ground floor the kitchen, dining and snug areas were already bright and airy as they flow out onto a beautifully laid out Court yard garden. In order to visually connect and create a natural flow between the Interior and Exterior a feature wall was created at the far end of the dining room.
The two twelve light shallow chandeliers reflect the amazing light coming in from through the French doors during the daytime whilst adding a touch of glamour to the room in the evenings.
Lush orange velvet large easy chairs in the snug TV/Reading area bring warmth and texture inviting relaxation. Changing the tones of the walls to warm white allows the room to appear fresh whilst retaining a comfortable ambiance.
The first floor consisted of a very large second lounge which was no longer being used along with a large double guest bedroom. From the space available the client requested a remodel to create a new Master Suite with dressing room, study area and and full bathroom. This had to be achieved with minimal disruption as all wall areas were set because of the fire place and chimney area.
The lounge naturally lent itself to becoming the Master Bedroom inclusive of desk area and TV Cabinet flowing well into drawers for filing and paperwork and then large capacity extra wardrobe space. The units were all bespoke cabinetry from Italy supplied and fitted by London based -The Italian Job.
The majority of the space available now could be redesigned as the sleeping area. The remit was to create and elegant yet comfortable bedroom in a favoured yellow. The south wall was extended forward into the room in order to create a feature wall panel behind the headboard. This wall was then framed and fitted with recessed ambient lighting around a Kit Miles hand printed Botanical paper. All other furniture in the room is bespoke. The drapes are made in Dupion silk , lined and interlined hand stitched.
The The lighting plan provided back lighting for the TV area and feature wall, ambient light in both the bedroom and dressing room, direct task lifting and a feature central 10 candled chandelier of Murano Glass.
A Lutron system controls remotely all AV and lighting.
Neutral tones of silver and taupe sitting as the back cloth behind the feature colours of the bedroom highlight the beautiful Botanical colours of themed paper. The textures of silk of the curtains and velvet bedside chair stand as comfortable contrast to the marble of the fireplace and the natural wood grain of the fitted furniture.
The bathroom is finished in marble to match the elegance and glamour of the bedroom . All bathroom furniture is again bespoke from Italy. With a Victoria and Albert Bath.
